Instrument Specs
Fluke Ukulele
The original design that started it all back in 1999. Created by Dale Webb, this non-traditional take on the ukulele features a unique composite construction of wood and injection molded thermoplastic. The combination of wood soundboard and acoustically resonant thermoplastic body,
yields a musical instrument with full, bright tonal qualities, is comfortable to hold, tremendously durable, and stands up on its end! It's everyone's favorite - great for travel, adventure, or music class.
The
concert FLUKE has a 15.5"
scale length, 15 frets and overall length of 23 inches. Weight is around one pound depending on materials and options. Necks are
solid maple
or
walnut.
Standard laminate tops are
hoop pine (printed or colored tops) or natural walnut.
Bodies are injection molded thermoplastic. Standard fretboard is molded
polycarbonate, hardwood is optional.
The
tenor FLUKE
has the same body size with a
17" scale
and overall length of 24.5". Like the concert, the tenor easily accommodates GCEA tuning but can also handle the lower DGBE tuning (high D).
Both sizes can be ordered in a variety of colors as well as with
pickup options
. All Fluke models come standard with
D'Addario Nyltech
strings.
Over 29,000 made, proudly in the

Cannot go wrong
My daughter needed a ukulele for music class at school, so I ordered a soprano Flea for her and, while I was at it, a concert Fluke for me - natural finish, no fancy options. Both are superb instruments. Intonation, action, fit and finish... everything is perfect. The smaller body of the Flea suits my daughter well, but I enjoy the bigger, more resonant tone of the Fluke - the difference is definitely noticeable. I have put some Worth strings on the Fluke (clear, hard, low-g) and they sound absolutely fantastic. The only bad thing I have to say about the Fluke is that now my Firefly isn't getting all the attention it used to. 8^)

A day without a ukulele is like .....
I got my fluke for Christmas, (thanks Al and Margaret), and I can honestly say I've gotten more pleasure out of it than any other gift I can remember. I play everyday. I carry it around like a weird Uke nerd. Mine is the walnut rosette design. It is gorgeous, and I get so many compliments on it. After about two weeks, the strings finally stretched out and it stays in tune throughout all kinds of playing, travel, and weather. Thank you MFC gang. I'm already dreaming of my next one!!

Sweet-sounding, lightweight and fun to play
I already own several reasonably expensive very good quality all-wood ukuleles that I keep humidified in cases when I'm not playing them. The indoor humidity here in Arizona is quite low, usually between 19 and 28 percent. Looking for something that I didn't need to baby or keep humidified and in its case, I purchased a new walnut Fluke tenor from an authorized online dealer and am very pleased with it. It's extremely light in weight, nicely made and finished. The neck and composite fingerboard are smooth, very comfortable and easy to play. The zero fret is a welcomed addition. I personally enjoy using Grover 2B peg tuners. Once they are properly adjusted they're easy to turn and hold tune quite well. This ukulele sounds great for what it is - a non-traditional design instrument that's made from several durable materials. As a bonus, it stands up at the ready wherever, no stand required. All-in-all this is a very well made quality instrument that is durable, sweet-sounding and a fun, welcomed departure away from the double-bout all-wood ukulele. Great job!

Love it!
I recently bought a used Fluke M10 that's about 10 years old. It's a pleasure to play! It's tone and intonation are perfect. That's not something I can say about the Asian-manufactured ukes that I own. Fluke ukuleles are built to last.

Great ukulele from a great company!
This is my second Fluke purchase. The first is mine and this one was a requested gift. The ordering process was clear and simple, and I asked to have the Fluke shipped to the lucky recipient. I received an email from Phyllis welcoming me back, asking if it was a gift and would I like to enclose a card. I ordered a bit late and was not sure it would make it for Christmas. However, it was there in plenty of time. I could continue to rave, but the title to this review says it all: great ukulele from a great company.
