Instrument Specs
Fluke Ukulele
Koa is the tropical hardwood of choice for many traditional luthiers. Our solid koa soundboards provide a more lively and bright acoustic sound, as well as a beautiful figured grain aesthetic.
This is the same high quality, quarter-sawn Adirondack Red Spruce we use in our violins. Lighter than the solid Koa, sound quality is bright and clear with lots of sustain.
The
concert FLUKE has a 15.5"
scale length, 15 frets and overall length of 23 inches. Weight is around one pound depending on materials and options. Necks are
walnut.
Bodies are injection molded thermoplastic. Standard fretboard is
walnut
to match the wood of the neck.
The
tenor FLUKE
has the same body size with a
17" scale
and overall length of 24.5". Like the concert, the tenor easily accommodates GCEA tuning but can also handle the lower DGBE tuning (high D).
Both sizes can be ordered in a variety of colors as well as with
pickup options
. All Fluke models come standard with
D'Addario Nyltech
strings.
Over 29,000 made, proudly in the
USA

Beautiful Fluke
I was worried about what the sound quality would be with the molded plastic back. Let me say it was unwarranted. The sound is crisp and clear and the sustain is fantastic. I'm very impressed with the quality and comfort of the neck and the action of the strings are great. If i had to do it all over again. I would in a heartbeat . Its a joy to play. And the personal touch thats given by the Magic Fluke company per order is fantastic.

Koa Fluke
Bought this from Acoustic Strings in Keene, NH, and it is great. A beautiful instrument with wonderful attention to detail. Looks, plays, and sounds as well or better than ukuleles costing many times more (if you're interested in Koa). And it really holds its harmonics going up the neck. That, to me, is the ultimate litmus test for any fretted instrument.

Spruce Fluke
I was always curious about the solid top Flukes and luckily for Christmas, my local store Gryphon Strings stocked up on Solid top flukes and fleas. For those wondering, yes the solid tops have more oomph and are worth the upgrade (it does mean you need to mind the humidity but that was not an issue for me). I got a spruce tenor fluke and am very happy with the tone, volume, dynamic range. Needless to say all Magic Fluke instruments have amazing quality! I have owned Fluke n Flea (normal top) as well as the cricket.

Awesome uke!
I just received a solid koa concert Fluke, and it exceeds my expectations. It sounds beautiful, and the intonation is perfect. The folks at Magic Fluke take great pride in their work, and it shows.

A day without a ukulele is like .....
I got my fluke for Christmas, (thanks Al and Margaret), and I can honestly say I've gotten more pleasure out of it than any other gift I can remember. I play everyday. I carry it around like a weird Uke nerd. Mine is the walnut rosette design. It is gorgeous, and I get so many compliments on it. After about two weeks, the strings finally stretched out and it stays in tune throughout all kinds of playing, travel, and weather. Thank you MFC gang. I'm already dreaming of my next one!!
