Flea Ukulele

Introduced in 2002, the Flea is another departure from the classic ukulele form.Created by Dale Webb, the Flea features the same hybrid design as the Fluke:a unique composite construction of wood and injection molded thermoplastic.

The combination of wood soundboard and acoustically resonant thermoplastic body gives this instrument an edge over the traditional standard ukes. It has a rich and bright sound, is comfortable to hold and stand up on its end as well. Known for its easy play-ability with a full 14" soprano scale and generous string spacing - a favorite for seasoned players or a perfect first uke. Its durable construction and meticulous setup is ideal for class or travel, weighing in at about one pound. Available in Soprano or Concert size.

Solid maple or walnut neck; laminate top of either hoop pine or walnut. Injection molded thermoplastic body, and polycarbonate or hardwood fretboard. All sizes can be ordered in a variety of colors and designs as well as with pickup options. Fleas come standard with D'Addario Nyltech strings.

Concert Flea

I am very pleased with my new concert Flea. It arrived within 10 days of order. I ordered the Pistachio with Sunflower engraving. The tone is good and it looks cool. What more could you ask! The Flea stands on its own, so itÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s easily accessible. Be sure to get the gripper strips when you order - makes the uke easy to handle and keep in a stable position (good for a 68 year old beginner who can use all the help available).

Cannot go wrong

My daughter needed a ukulele for music class at school, so I ordered a soprano Flea for her and, while I was at it, a concert Fluke for me - natural finish, no fancy options. Both are superb instruments. Intonation, action, fit and finish... everything is perfect. The smaller body of the Flea suits my daughter well, but I enjoy the bigger, more resonant tone of the Fluke - the difference is definitely noticeable. I have put some Worth strings on the Fluke (clear, hard, low-g) and they sound absolutely fantastic. The only bad thing I have to say about the Fluke is that now my Firefly isn't getting all the attention it used to. 8^)

Superior Uke!

Iâ€™ve had my concert pineapple Flea for about 5 months and I instantly fell in love the moment I opened the box. Itâ€™s super fun to play, sounds better than any of my other ukes, and since it stands up on itâ€™s own I never put it away. If you have any doubts at all if a Flea is right for you, just do yourself a favor and get one. These are superior instruments. Hereâ€™s why: -Gorgeous -Wide, comfortable neck even for big hands -Quality craftsmanship -Set up perfectly out of the box -Fast action -Bright, loud sound -Very durable -Built to order -Made in the USA Even the packaging is neat, compact, and the shipping was lightning fast.
